Understand company types and roles
Distinguish your company's classification from your permissions and transaction role.
Distinguish your company's classification from your permissions and transaction role.
Before you start
Know the activity your company performs and the role you hold in it.
Steps
Open company settings and review Company Type.
Choose the available classification that accurately describes the company and save the change.
For a specific deal, answer the project's relationship and sourcing questions separately.
Ask support if the classification you need is unavailable or if access does not match your responsibilities.
What happens next
Company Type describes the organization. It does not make a member an administrator, transfer company ownership, or automatically authorize outreach.
Common problems
Do not change classification just to gain a missing permission. A newly available company-type name is not a promise of new product capabilities or access to another company's projects.
